In love with the real, raw, honest and messy.
All people and all bodies are welcome here.
Hey y'all! Nice to meet ya.
I'm Maddie, a photographer and storyteller living in Portland, Oregon.
I picked up my first camera as a teenager and it feels like I’ve had one in hand ever since. I’ve been photographing my favorite people and places for eight years now (!!) and I feel lucky every single day. I get to explore the west coast and beyond with a backpack full of film and memory cards, making really cool stuff with really cool people.
In 2016, I graduated from the Pacific Northwest College of Art with a B.F.A. in Photography, but I’ve learned the most about my craft from practice and collaboration.
I believe in capturing the real and the raw, the honest and the messy. Every beautiful gritty detail. I take a documentary approach with a fine art feel. I’m obsessed with light and shadow. With a background in film photography, I believe in preserving the true mood of each moment with rich, natural hues and true-to-life tones. I let your story determine the look of your photos— because you’re more important than any photographer’s ‘style.’
Every love story is worth sharing.
While I’m based in Portland, I am always willing (and thrilled!) to travel. I love a good road trip, and I’m ready for adventure.
Because so many of the couples and weddings I work with are nontraditional, I create a custom package for everyone I work with. That said, I love a big traditional wedding just as much as an intimate backyard wedding or city hall elopement. The easiest way to get started is to shoot me a message! We'll talk about your budget, your hopes and dreams and what you're most excited for, and I'll share some more of my work with you and answer any questions you might have.
When I'm not photographing cool people in love, I like to make work documenting local activism, especially the youth-led climate movement of which I am a part. Justice is at the center of everything that motivates me.
In my free time, you can catch me writing, making things with my hands, watching Chopped with my partner, or playing with our kitten, Emmylou Montana.
